Jayde Darin

I am a director and owner of Praxis Medical, and its Business Manager. My role covers the finances, marketing and strategic direction of the practice, along with governance and compliance. It is the work that sits behind the care, and it is what lets our clinicians do their jobs properly.

Healthcare was never the plan. My career started in finance and banking, moved through more than a decade of business and strategic management roles in state and local government, and then into business ownership as a consultant across private, not-for-profit and government organisations. Then I met, and later married, Dr Paul. He wanted to run healthcare the way he believed it could be done, I could see how my skillset might improve healthcare locally, and together with Dr Kayla we built Praxis Medical.

Patients do not often deal with me directly, but I had a hand in designing the space you walk into and the team that greets you. My aim was somewhere warm and welcoming rather than cold and clinical, where you feel safe, known and part of something that is here for the long haul.

I came to Manjimup in 2009 for a two year posting at the local bank. Then I built a house, had three children, and my family followed me down! Now, it is home.
