We’re here to help you take the next step towards better health

Delivering quality healthcare

Our local team are here to help you take the next step towards better health. We provide personalised, expert care for all your health needs with standard and long appointments available. If you have numerous medical issues or any complex issues you would like to discuss, please book a long consultation.

Praxis Medical Pricing

These are our standard in-person and telehealth consultation fees. For small procedures, your GP will provide an estimate of costs prior to your procedure appointment. Children 15 years & younger are bulk-billed.

Standard consultations

Level B – up to 20 minutes$100
Level C – 20-40 minutes$180
Level D – 40-60 minutes$260
Antenatal care$130

Telehealth

Our telehealth consultations allow you to receive the same excellent medical care and personalised treatment from the comfort of your home.

Telehealth works the same as a face-to-face consultation. You can talk to your doctor confidentially and receive comprehensive medical advice and support. Telehealth appointments are only available to existing patients, and due to Medicare requirements, patients must see their GP in person every 12 months to be eligible for telehealth Medicare rebates. You can book a telehealth appointment online or by calling our reception team.

Cancellation policy

Please call our reception staff as early as possible if you need to cancel or change your appointment. To avoid being charged a cancellation fee, please make sure you cancel your appointment at least 12 hours in advance. A cancellation fee equal to the booked consultation fee will apply for any missed appointments.

Complaint & feedback policy

At Praxis Medical, your feedback helps us grow and improve. Whether you’ve had a great experience or have concerns to share, we welcome your input. We’re committed to handling all feedback respectfully and fairly, and we aim to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.

You can speak directly to our team, email our Business Manager Jayde, or complete a feedback form in-person. If needed, we also provide details for external health complaint bodies.

Privacy & confidentiality

At Praxis Medical, your privacy matters. We are committed to protecting your personal information and handling it with the highest level of care and confidentiality. Your health information is used only for your care and in accordance with Australian privacy laws.

Common FAQs

  • You can request a refill script online through any of the booking links on this website. This will be reviewed and actioned within 48 hours (excluding weekends & public holidays). If you’re an existing patient, you can also book a telehealth appointment to speak with your GP – though this may take longer if appointments are fully booked.

Prescriptions will be sent as an eScript via SMS, which you can take directly to your pharmacy. Paper scripts are available on request. If someone else is collecting your paper script, we require your consent (as the patient) authorising that person to do so. We recommend calling reception before coming in to collect a script to ensure it’s ready.

Please note: Some medications can only be prescribed during an in-person consultation. Your doctor will let you know if this applies to your request, and if you have paid an online request fee, this will be refunded.

  • Your GP will review your test results as soon as they are received. You will then receive a text message advising if you need to book an urgent or non-urgent appointment. Please note that our administrative staff are not able to provide any details about your results. If you’re unsure whether your results have arrived, our team can book a brief telehealth appointment so you can follow up directly with your GP and make a plan if needed.

  • If you’d like to request your medical records from your previous doctor, our reception team can help you complete a transfer form, which we’ll send on your behalf. Please be aware that some practices charge a release fee and may not transfer records until payment is received. We recommend speaking with your GP first to confirm if the full records are needed.

If you’re moving to a new GP outside of Praxis Medical and would like your records transferred, simply complete a transfer form at your new practice. We do not charge any fees for releasing medical records.

  • If you’d like to speak with your GP, please phone reception. They’ll ask for a brief description of your request and check if the doctor is available to take your call. If your GP isn’t immediately available, one of our nurses may be able to assist, or reception can pass your message on for the doctor to return your call when possible.

If you choose to contact your GP directly via email or messaging, please be aware that responses are at the discretion of the doctor. GPs may respond if they determine a consultation is not required and that electronic communication is appropriate – but this is not guaranteed and should not be expected. Doctors are often very busy and may not be able to respond the same day. If your matter is urgent, we recommend booking an appointment instead.

  • You’ll receive a free SMS reminder to your nominated mobile number the day before your booked appointment. For some appointments, we may also send a short pre-appointment questionnaire to help your doctor prepare and keep your records up to date.

We also send reminder messages for scheduled or preventative care, such as nutritional blood tests, annual health checks, or screening programs. If your doctor or nurse needs to follow up on significant results or correspondence, you’ll receive a recall notice. Our recall process includes two SMS reminders, followed by a phone call, and finally a letter sent by registered post if we don’t hear from you.
